RESEARCHING YOUR FAMILY’S HISTORY
How you go about researching your family’s history will depend on where you want to begin. If some of your family came from England, Scotland, or Ireland, then you will have a number of resources available online. If some of your family came from Africa or one of the other Caribbean islands, then there is less digitized material and you may have to come into the Archives.
The Archives is in the process of creating searchable indices for birth, marriage, and death records, as well as for indentures (valuable because the list who sells what to whom), and probates. Go to the Digital Resources page for links to the completed indices.
